How the AI works
AI helps busy hiring team members read applications. It does not hire, reject, or rank anyone on its own.
What the AI does
On paid searches, SealedApply sends each application and the job description to an AI model from Anthropic. The model returns a summary, strengths and gaps, a fit score from 0 to 100, and three suggested interview questions. The hiring team sees these next to the original application.
What the AI can't see
Before review, we remove the applicant's name, email, phone number, street address, photos, and links to social profiles where we can detect them. The AI is told to ignore age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, and any other protected characteristic, and to score only job-related skills and experience.
Safeguards
- Scores are advice. Every status change is made by a person on the hiring team.
- Teams can turn AI review off for any search.
- Every apply page tells applicants that AI may help the hiring team review applications.
- AI scoring is turned off for searches where a local law requires an independent bias audit before automated tools are used, such as positions located in New York City.
- Applications sent to the AI are not used to train AI models.
Limits
AI can misread a resume, miss context, or weigh things differently than your hiring team would. Treat the score as a first opinion from a reader who has never met the person. Read the application yourself before you decide.
